A Charming Little Pumpkin Patch

1232 E Fork Rd, Rockwall, TX 75087

It’s October in Dallas and and we are embracing everything fall. Of course the Dallas Arboretum is king when it comes to pumpkin patches and I always recommend everybody stop by at least once per season, but as we all know it can get crowded and the Arboretum can be a bit overwhelming.

Ifyou are looking for something a little different and perhaps more low-key we found the cutest little family-owned pumpkin patch about 15 minutes outside of Dallas.

If you read my post last spring about the blueberry farm then you know where this is, The Blaze Family Farm, it’s the same place turned pumpkin patch.

It’s a beautiful drive over the lake and into Rockwall to a quaint little hidden gem among the trees. This family-owned farm is the perfect morning activity for group play dates, family outings, or a great place to go if you just need to get out of the house with your little one.

The cost is $7 to get in and this will grant you your food for the petting zoo where you get to feed friendly goats, cows, Longhorns, and sheep.

Also included in the $7 entry fee is a hayride and hot dogs, which was so nice not having to worry about bringing a lunch.

There are pumpkins and hay bales set up all around the property making it fun and easy for kids to pick their pumpkins and get lots of great photos.

There is a mini hay maze which seemed simple but turned out to be Dexter’s favorite thing about the visit, he loved running around, jumping over the hay walls, and going under the tunnel.

Another cute addition to this pumpkin park is the tractor train, it was a little homemade train pulled by a big tractor which Dexter absolutely loved, they even let him sit on the tractor at the end which was a big deal.

When you get your free hot dogs there are picnic tables to eat your lunch and when you are finished be sure to grab a homemade pumpkin spice popsicle, they taste like everything that is good about fall.

I love little places like this when you are looking for a morning activity, it’s not too big, you can do everything in about an hour and a half and it’s a change of scenery. Go check it out, bring your friends and have a great fall y’all!
